Sigur Ros at the Orpheum last Tuesday

Theatrical light and visual effects match the brilliance of the musicians - this band makes strange & beautiful, impossible music. The show opened with scrim and shadow, blinding headlights, and closed after several encores to the flight of birds. Perfection.

JC said, "it's a cliche of beauty, isn't it?"

-because it was so pretty with a bit of a hard edge to it, the delicate melodies with intermittent electric crescendo ...

Tho I personally will embrace the cliche of beauty any day and have no qualms towards the recognition of pretty artifice.

Vis a vis Rufus Wainwright, "pretty lies, so what if i like prettty lies," etc.

Or Yeats,

"Consume my heart away; sick with desire....and gather me/Into the artifice of eternity."
